Sunny Dental Centre has proudly served generations of patients in Guelph since it was first established near 1965. As a family-owned practice for nearly 60 years, we’ve built our reputation on trust, long-term relationships, and a commitment to treating every patient like family.
At Sunny Dental Centre, your first visit is all about giving you a complete picture of your oral health. We take a comprehensive approach that blends advanced diagnostic tools with personalized and old-school attention to detail.
During your new patient visit, our experienced team will conduct a thorough assessment that includes:
1. A review of your medical and dental history.
2. Digital intraoral scanning with iTero Scanner, including NIRI technology for early cavity detection and bite analysis
3. Low-radiation digital X-rays and high-resolution photography for a detailed look at your teeth, jaw, and surrounding structures.
4. A full evaluation of your gum health, an oral cancer screening, and a TMJ assessment.
5. Personalized treatment planning based on your goals and clinical needs.
6. Predetermination submissions to your insurance provider so you can clearly understand your coverage before beginning treatment
The goal of this visit is to create a detailed dental baseline and develop a customized treatment plan focused on your overall well-being and long-term goals. Our advanced technology helps us identify subtle changes in your oral health—such as enamel wear, bite issues, and gum recession—before they become bigger problems. By combining clinical experience, clear communication, and precise diagnostics, we’re able to design care that truly fits your needs.
Our hygienists also bring years of experience and stay current with the latest preventive techniques. They’ll work closely with you to build healthy daily habits and recommend the most effective tools and products for your home care routine. We encourage open communication at every step. Whether you have questions, concerns, or aspirations for your smile, we’re here to listen and guide you through your options with clarity and empathy.

We provide a comprehensive range of dental services including dental cleanings using ultrasonic scalers, fillings with composite resin material, anatomically designed ceramic crowns, composite bonding, porcelain veneers and surgical dentistry. For wisdom teeth extractions and surgical procedures such as implants, our clinic is also equipped for IV sedation with a visiting nurse.
It is generally recommended to visit the dentist every four to six months for routine check-ups and a cleaning. Most people would benefit from a hygiene frequency of 4 months given the high prevalence of periodontal disease. However, your specific needs may vary based on your dental health. Our team will help you determine the best schedule for your visits based upon your decay risk, periodontal health, and overall dentition. We can also submit prederminations to your insurance incase your coverage is a concern. Our goal is to help you maintain your teeth through routine care and minimize the total amount of dentistry.
